Gift Swap - December 2025

'Tis the season for boycotting big corporations and celebrating community! We're excited to announce a special opportunity to swap your well-loved items from your home (that you no longer need or want) for your neighbors' well-loved items. A way to reuse, upcycle, and save money this holiday season!
🕚 December 11th from 6:00-8:00pm, join Salt Lake County Community Exchange in the Granite Library meeting room!
Bring items to swap or exchange for other items as holiday gifts this year! Bringing items is not required
❄️A wrapping table will be set up if you are ready to wrap-n-go❄️
What's important is that community supports community with alternative ways to share gifts this season with loved ones that does not require dipping into already limited finances.
What to expect:
🕚 Bring items with you and exchange for something new to you! Swap out an old T-shirt for a new (to you) Dutch oven!
🕚 Learn more about the Salt Lake County Community Exchange and join our time bank right away!
🕚 Get to know other members and neighbors - build community!
Important update on our planned December collaboration: We originally announced a second event on December 12th from 4:00-8:00pm in partnership with Church & State Events and Auracle Energy. Unfortunately, that collaboration has dissolved due to conflicting visions for the event.
We're committed to creating spaces where community members can exchange items and support each other and we believe that real community exchange means keeping events accessible to everyone. While we respect that others may have different approaches, we're staying true to our core mission: building community connections and providing alternatives to consumerism.
We're excited to focus our energy on our Granite Library event where we can create the kind of authentic, community space we envisioned!
It's totally free to attend, totally free to join Salt Lake County Community Exchange Time Bank, and totally free to exchange items!
Remember that your community has what you need and you have what your community needs. Reduce waste, reuse items, and get creative with new uses for old (and loved) items!
