Community Meeting - June 2025

We're always so thankful for community showing up for community! Our meeting last Friday was a great chance to get to know each other, share some cool ideas, and hear about what brings us all to timebanking!

❤️ We posted our concerns about starting a Signal channel, but community showed up with why they felt differently. We want to make sure that everyone who wants to share their voice in organizing community events, has the opportunity to do so - a Signal channel sounds like a great way to collaborate with each other quickly!

❤️ We want to make sure we are including as many communities as possible, but we also recognize the value is consistent meeting locations so that people have an idea of where to find us. One community member offered to plot out a few locations that are located throughout Salt Lake County. (They will share those locations in the Signal chat so we can chat more about it together!)

❤️ We finalized details for our first community social event: SWAP MEET & GREET in July! You'll start seeing more posts about that and requests for help in the coming days/weeks.

❤️ We soft-planned a few more events leading up to our next Community meeting in September. Keep an eye out for details on August social event and Sept. meeting location/times.

❤️ We shared some great ideas on how to post more about the people in our community, the skills they have, and the help we need.

We feel so grateful to be part of such a caring, present, and active community. You all are doing the work by showing up, engaging, and thinking of your neighbors who might not be ready to show up yet. Keep sharing your ideas, keep asking for help, and keep supporting your neighbors with your skills, time, and presence. That's the way we build community solidarity. That's how we make the change we want to see in our local spaces.
